Visiting a church for the first time can be confusing. When you come to ECOC, you can expect a friendly, laid-back atmosphere. We'll be glad to have you with us, and we hope it shows! There is no dress code, so wear clothes that make you comfortable. When you come in the front door, you'll be greeted by friendly faces, and we'll even have coffee (and maybe donuts) available!
If you have children between 3 years old and 6th grade, we have a special program for them called KidSpark. If you're here for the first time, you'll need to take a few minutes up front to register them (if you haven't already done so here). After your kids are registered, all you have to do is drop them off with our trained, background-checked volunteers right inside the lobby.
During worship you can expect singing, praying, a sermon, and the Lord's Supper. We come from a group that has traditionally sung acapella (without instruments) during worship. We still use that style in our Sunday morning worship time, although you will never hear us condemn anyone else for worshipping in a different way. Our tradition also includes taking the Lord's Supper every Sunday. We believe this is a special touchstone for our week as we center our lives around the love of Christ and the sacrifice He made on our behalf. The sermon will usually last about 30 minutes, and we also have a time in the middle of our service for anyone who wants to receive prayers for any reason. We have people prepared to pray with you quietly if you desire, and we treat those prayer requests with respect, honoring confidentiality if needed.
All in all, we want your Sunday morning experience at ECOC to be a great start to a great week!
